FAQ
- How do I pay?
- The orders will always be raised in Euros or Pounds, consequently deposits and final payments should also be remitted in Euros or Pounds.
- Can I part exchange my old car?
- We will always assist you in part exchanging your current car.
- How do I qualify?
- You must be able to produce a diplomatic passport or service pass from a recognised international organisation.
- How many can I have and for how long?
- Each holder of a passport/pass may buy two MINIs per year. This will usually dictate how long you keep the previous car.
- How long will I have to wait?
- It very much depends on whether you want a MINI built to your own specification (not withstanding country specific options) in which case we usually build a MINI and deliver within four to five months. There is always a possibility that the right MINI might be found in your country, which will speed up the delivery time. Occasionally, a new model may prove difficult to deliver within the normal parameters due to strong demand so should you be contemplating a new model please allow more time.
- How can I receive the price I am entitled to?
- By coming through to MINI Diplomatic Sales, we take away any anxiety you may have about the price. The constant will be that the price is directly linked to MINI's factory price.
- How will the car be shipped to me?
- MINI International Sales will deliver your car via our shipping agents to your local subsidiary or importer. In rare circumstances the car may be delivered to your nearest port where the designated clearing agent will handle the details.
- What are the payment terms?
- We shall require an initial deposit of 10% and MINI will invoice you for the final payment prior to the car leaving the factory. This may increase to 25% for Left Hand Drive vehicles.
- Would I have tax-free status?
- This will depend on local conditions so it is advisable to check with the Protocol Department of your Mission or Organisation. They should be in a position to advise you correctly.
- How can I be sure of buying the right car?
- You will be buying your car directly from MINI even if you are dealing with your local people. We are aware of what will be required for the conditions of your posting and the car will be built for the specific market. Should your car be staying in the country of your posting, then the local subsidiary or importer will be able to source the car from local quotas.
- What qualifies as an Official car?
- If the car is to be registered to your Mission and not to an individual, then the Official MINI price will be used.
- Can family members take advantage of the scheme?
- Any member of your family who holds diplomatic accreditation can also purchase a vehicle through this scheme.
- Do you have any cars in stock?
- For those customers who need a quick delivery we have the facility to look for unsold MINIs already in the UK. Whilst we may not be able find your exact first choice, we can usually offer many close alternatives. Please call us at MINI International Sales on 020 514 3557 to discuss.
